Keep it off your neck!!
Don't use tape over your mouth and then tie off your hands. (nasal congestion can kill if that's all you've got as an airway.)
The final tie-off to a solid object, should be a slipknot that you can untie by pulling on it with your teeth.

But most importantly... it's more fun with a partner. Go to a munch and find one. It need not be sexual.
