browser problems

okay I have been having problems with my browsers closing on me. I don't know what is causing it. I have tried IE, Firefox, Opera, and now have switch to Netscape. I have reloaded all of them and it doesn't help. Can someone please tell me why this is happening? My yahoo and MSN keeps logging out and relogging in. I have earthlink home networking DSL.

scan your computer with a free online virus scanner. Use something like trend micro to do this.

My husband, the geek, seconds the suggestion that it could be a virus or "malware". Anybody with a PC ought to be regularly running anti-virus software. Those of us with Macs are a little safer, but not completely so.

Having spent yesterday morning removing a pesky Trojan virus, it's all fresh in my mind...

Yes first thing I'd do is a spyware scan, then virus scan.

ok found a trogen removed it and I am still having the same problems. I had to spend 2 hours on the phone yesterday getting my Home networking to work again. yahoo still restarts and browsers still close. GRRRRR

Some of these trojans copy themselves in system restore----I had one like that and had to turn off my system restore ---then remove the trojan ---because when I removed it before I turned off my system restore it just restored it self when I rebooted -----

I've gotten rid of 2 Trojans using those instructions- follow them to the letter.

All part of the fun- to run a happy PC you need to be A:rich enough or B:smart enough.
