New Guidelines for Posting Pictures in BDSM Library Forums

The guidelines and practices for posting pictures in the BDSM Library Forums have changed. From now on, the following shall apply to the posting of pictures to threads in these forums:

For Favorite Pictures:

1. Posting of copyrighted pictures is prohibited. If you are not the photographer, then you are required to get the permission of either the photographer or the hosting website on which the pictures you wish to post are found. If you do not have permission to redistribute the pictures, then you may not post them.
2. Pictures posted should be of good quality. The pictures should be clear and the content should be on-topic. Please try to select pictures in which the models seem to be interested in what they are doing.
3. Please try to post pictures that have not been widely viewed. Likely, if you have seen the pictures multiple time, then so have many others here. Picture content does not have to be entirely unique, but content should not be mundane either.
4. Please try to post only pictures here that qualify as "Favorites." Favorite pictures should indicate something unique, or special to the poster, or a type of quality, or depth of content that one does not see everyday.
5. The poster of the picture may want to include an explanation of why the image is one of their favorites. What qualities make the picture special to the poster? This may aid viewers in appreciating the picture and seeing it from the perspective of the poster.
6. Please post all photographic materials, except those personally taken by you, to this thread. If a picture must be posted to another thread, please try and have a reason for posting the picture. Please only post pictures to other threads for reference material, or as the subject of research or a query. (e.g. A picture is posted of a butt plug and the question is asked: "I have never used a butt plug before; is this a good sized one for a beginner?")

For Art and Anime:

1. Posting of copyrighted pictures is prohibited. If you are not the artist, then you are required to get the permission of either the artist or the hosting website on which the pictures you wish to post are found. If you do not have permission to redistribute the pictures, then you may not post them.
2. Please post images that are of sufficient size and quality to be easily seen. If an image is too small or too pixelated, the image will not easily convey its intended scene.
3. If the artist has signed the picture, do not remove the signature.
4. Drawn or painted images of gore, vore, cannibalism, underage content, mutilation and snuff are all legal to post, but please be aware that such images may not be to everyone's taste. Hence it is recommended that a warning is attached for more sensitive viewers.

Personal pictures will remain in the Personal Photography thread. The photo library site is to be closed until a way to moderate the content posted there is available. The photo library was intended as a location for personal photography, but it has instead been used for the posting of copyrighted materials as well.

The picture threads will now be located in their own moderated forum area. Pictures failing to meet the posting requirements are to be removed. Members that continue to post inappropriate pictures should be warned and then removed from the forums if they refuse to comply with the new guidelines.

Remember, all content that has not been personally created by the poster is legally someone else's copyrighted material. Reposting that material without the owner, artist's or photographer's consent is against the law. Jinn and the BDSM Library site would be held responsible for any inappropriate picture content.

Also, once members here post their personal content, then it, too, becomes their legal copyright. Any reposting of their pictures should only be done with their written consent.

If you haven't already noticed, the new picture forums have now been created. Some content has already been posted in Bondage Art, and the New Lord Mobius' Dungeon is up and running with gusto.

A big :bravo: for that unique and very interesting idea.

If any of you know any artists or photographers who wish to have their fetish, kink and BDSM artwork or pictures posted here, then drop them a line and get their permission or tell them to drop by and post some of their work. As long as the rules are followed, then :kewlpics: may be posted to any of the picture forums.


There are one or two things I wanted to point out, just as an FYI.

First, the picture forums are now only viewable to registered members. This was done for two reasons. One, it keeps guest users from just popping in to view pictures and then leaving without saying a word. Two, it keeps guest users from dropping by, downloading the pictures that the users here have taken the time to get the permission to post, and absconding with the self-same pictures, possibly to repost them to other places without the owner's consent.

Second, the new pictures forums encourage those of you with photographic and artistic talent to post your own work, rather than solely focusing on the professional materials that are prevalent all over the net. Do you have a friend that likes to sketch anime girls in bondage? Or maybe your brother enjoys drawing girls being forced into slavery. Whatever the case, ask them to post to our pictures forums. If you have art or photography that you have done yourself, please post it to our picture threads. Granted, we'd like to see good quality material, but if you do the art or photos yourself, we're not going to be too picky about it. After all, anyone that's ever seen my photgraphic works knows that I am no master of the shutter myself.

Third, pictures posted to the picture threads by artists or photographers other than the user that has posted them must be posted with the permission of the original photographer or artist, or with the consent of the website on which the pictures are hosted. No exceptions. No ifs ands or buts about it. If I send an email to the webmaster at whipmebeatmecallmesusan dot com, and ask if whipit at a-o-hell dot com has permission to post the pictures from that website to our forums and the answer is no, then the offender may be :banned: and all his illegally posted pictures removed.


We're taking this issue very seriously. We want to allow people to share pictures and art of BDSM, kink and fetishes, but if the picture content cannot be obtained and shared legally, then it won't be shared here at all. Also, repeated abuse by people posting works that are not their own or works without consent of the artist, photographer or webmaster will result in the complete loss of picture posting privileges by all members here.

Please, enjoy the pictures in the picture threads. Add your own or get your friends to post theirs. And don't be afraid to email people to ask for their permission to post. You'd be surprised at how many people really don't mind it at all.

Sorry, but those pictures still belong to somebody. The somebody just might be really heard to track down. LOL

Reposting a picture from another forum or BBS is not different that reposting on from a Yahoo or MSN group. The owner of the material should still be contacted and permission gained beforehand.

I know it's kind of a pain, but it's the law and we're sticking to it.
