first day and my Dom is making it difficult

Ok so my Husband and I are transitioning from a vanilla marriage to a D/s marriage and even getting into more of the "harder" things. We went through about a week of experimenting but this week is the first real week of it. I've been given the task of pet names. I've never called Him by His name its always been Babe or Baby. We both agree that's way too feminine. Last week I just called Him Husband but He didn't really like that. I've approached Him with the normal Master and Sir but that's not His style. I've looked everywhere for something but can't find anything remotely close to something He will like. We want something that I may call Him in public and around my family. Has anyone else had this issue? Any tips or suggestions?

It may help to keep in mind that in some circles; for both practical and traditional reasons, one doesn't even resort to such things when amongst the "uninitiated" (including full on 24/7 TPE relationships as well).

Additionally....some "tasks" simply cannot be completed all the time. Heck some tasks aren't even designed to be able to be completed at all (something both of you should be well aware of) and if he really has a preference and all...why doesn't he come up with it himself? Who knows...

Either way I wouldnt loose my cookies over not being able to "guess" what he may allready have chosen in his head if anything.

Some possible things that may or may not help but which dont draw attention to one's lifestyle or include the unintiated:

    Boss man

    Boss

    Papa

    Daddy

    My Lord

    High Farook

    Honey

    Sugar

Mr (whatever his last name is)

    Captain

Why not just call him by his given name. Just because you call a person by their given name does not mean that you do not respect them. If you have never called him by his given name before then it would be a first, or even his initials. You show and give respect to a Mistress/Master in the way they feel comfortable with or teach you. It is not the submissive/slaves task to work out how they wish to be respected. He alone knows what name he needs you to call him to feel superior in the eyes of all about him.

I am in agreement with denu on the use of such names being used in public.
