The flame kisses the match
like a lover
entwining around it
It burns softly at first
then in time
bursts
consumes
takes every essence it has
Why does the match let it?
The answer is a simple one
that is its purpose
to serve its master

To join
become one
until the flame takes all it has
refining it in the beauty
of the aftermath
where it lays
still
content
fulfilled
It is complete in the knowledge
it has served well & true
It was all it had been meant to be
